Over the May half term, Enjoy Church engaged in ‘serve week’, a focussed week that served the local community.
We started on the bank holiday monday sending a team into Gordano School to renovate the outdoor learning space. What once a very overgrown area has now become a welcoming space for students to learn and grow.
On Tuesday a small team spent the evening handwriting thank you cards of appreciation to go to all of the North Somerset Foster Carers / kinship carers. This was accompanied with a coffee voucher.
On Wednesday a team joined the residents of Harbour Road Care Home, where they spent time talking, laughing and sharing over a cream tea! Delicious!
On Thursday a pop up stall was placed in the Precinct giving out free hot dogs and pop corn to passers by.
And finally on Friday appreciation gifts were distributed to all of our local services that do such a fantastic job in our community, from the fire service, RNLI, doctors surgeries, town council. We appreciate all they do in making our town a safer, better place.
We engaged almost 100 volunteers across the week, and what a privilege it was to serve our town. We are blessed to be a blessing!
