Welcome to Revival Church
We’d like to thank you for taking time to visit our website, and we hope that you can find out more about Revival Church! We want to give you the chance to get to know us better, so around the site you’ll find recordings of our main meetings, information about events and the general life of the church. By the end hopefully you should be able to gain an understanding of the vision of the church, what we do, what we believe and where we are!
If you’ve never been to church here is a little guide as to what you might expect.
Sometimes when people go to a pop concert, there is clapping, dancing and jumping around, other times they are dumbstruck, and some get so overwhelmed they faint.
At a football match people can go absolutely wild – there is much shouting and singing.
In church the same sort of people meet together and react in similar ways when they meet with God.
Some people want to be very quiet and calm in church, some people may weep or laugh.
We try to have a balance where people can express themselves before God and the purpose of our gathering can be achieved.
Here are some examples of things you might see in church:

Some people like to raise their hands in worship to God – it’s a way of saying that God is great a sign of submission. (Psalm 63:4)

Some people speak in other languages that Christians call ‘tongues’. It may sound strange, but it is a special way of praying. (Acts 2:4)
When we pray for people we may lay our hands on them – this has to do with identifying with their need. (1 Timothy 4:14)

Some people react in a physical way to God’s presence or to prayer – they might even fall over. We try to catch them! (John 18:6)

Some people spontaneously speak out a message we call prophecy. We listen carefully as this is a way God speaks to us (1 Corinthians 14:3)

Some people leap or dance a jig because they are happy or excited. (2 Samuel 6:16)

Some people may kneel down or lay on the floor to indicate that God is greater than they are. (Ephesians 3:14)
We would love it today if you felt at home with us. Don’t be put off by anyone else, just focus on God.
If at any point you are confused or worried then please talk to one of our leaders who will be happy to answer your questions.
