Award Categories

We are looking for six heroes to honour.  Take a look and see if someone comes to mind when you read the categories:

Unsung Hero

This volunteer is someone who selflessly helps others without looking for reward or recognition but certainly deserves it. Whether they are running a community group, giving time and energy helping charities raise money, shopping for the elderly or running the local neighbourhood watch, they are dedicated to making people feel great.

Children’s Champion

These classroom assistants, youth leaders, teachers, lunch-time supervisors, scout troop leaders and caretakers are dedicated in raising young champions. They see potential, put no limits on children, and pour their lives into this generation.

The Extra Mile

These nurses, nannies, doctors, midwives, foster carers, teachers and nursing home workers demonstrate their commitment by going above and beyond what they are paid to do. For them it’s a calling not just a job.

Caring Heart

They have hearts of gold, always putting the interests of others before themselves. These people from all walks of life are always putting a smile on our faces and brightening our day.

Courageous Child

This child is overcoming or has overcome adversity with a smile and resolve to succeed, embracing today and the future with renewed hope.

Tremendous Teenager

Teenagers often get bad press but this helper, carer or volunteer breaks the image by demonstrating determination and character to show that it doesn’t have to be that way.  They are a credit to their peer group.
