A great big thank you to everyone who made the Grand Awards Ceremony on Saturday 24th such a brilliant success. There was music, laughter and heroes to honour. A great time was had by all.

We’ve already had requests to repeat it for 2013 so watch this space!

We’ve almost finished gathering enough information to pick the winners.   Video production is under way and the band is being rehearsed.  We’re all brushing off DJ’s and Posh Frocks for what promises to be a truly memorable event.

Honour Awards on the Prom

You might have spotted us on New Mills Prom on Saturday 21st. We didn’t pick the best day and the gazebo nearly went missing but we did manage to give out a load of nomination forms – and get a few filled in too including our first (and second) Tremendous Teenager nomination!

The Awards team met last night and came up with lots of ideas to promote the event in the final few weeks before nominations close. So far we have 10 nominations in 4 categories – but it would be great to get a few more! Watch out for us on The Prom on Saturday 21st January…

When you do something like this you have no idea if anyone will notice. Will we be inundated or ignored? We were encouraged today to get our first nomination – so there’s no going back now.

Honour Awards are go!

The posters are out, leaflets distributed, radio interview recorded and press-release sent. We’re all launched now so it’s over to people to make their nominations. This is the bit we can’t do – we’re looking to the people of New Mills to tell us who the heroes are!

The Awards Team met for the third time on Wednesday and we’re all systems go for launch of nominations.

We’ve set up a radio interview with High Peak radio, written press releases, ordered flyers and posters and organised ourselves to distribute them round the town.

Of course the big unknown is will anyone get nominated (or too many!). Perhaps we’ll know in a couple of weeks time…
